一、《云南统计年鉴一2004》是一部全面反映云南省国民经济和社会发展情况的资料书。本书汇集了全省及各地、州、市、县2003年经济和社会发展各方面的统计数据，以及全省历年主要统计数据。 二、全书内容分为24个部分，即：1．行政区划和自然资源；2．综合；3．国民经济核算；4．人口；5．就业人员和职工工资；6．固定资产投资；7．财政、金融和保险；8．价格指数；9．人民生活；10．农业；11．工业；12．能源原材料生产和消费；13．运输和邮电；14．建筑业；15．国内贸易；16．对外经济贸易和旅游；17．教育、科技；18．文化、体育、卫生和其他；19．企业调查；20．基本单位调查；21．民族自治地方情况；22．城市概况；23．各县(市、区)概况；24．乡镇概况。有关部分附有主要统计指标解释，对主要统计指标的含义、统计范围和统计方法作了简要说明。 三、本年鉴的资料来源，大部分来自年度统计报表，少部分来自抽样调查。由于条块统计分工关系，部分指标各地、州、市、县数字相加不等于全省总计，在使用中请注意。由于统计制度仍处于改革过程中，因此，一些统计指标的统计口径范围有所变化，本年鉴对有关数据作了相应的调整，并在有关统计表下作了解释。 四、度量衡单位均采用国家颁布的国际统一标准计量单位。 五、本年鉴中的符号使用说明： “…”表示数据不足本表最小单位数； “空格”表示无该项统计指标数据； “#”表示其中的主要项。 六、2004年年鉴的中英文对照，除工矿企业、公司的单位名称未翻译外，全面作了重新翻译和校订。本年鉴在统计指标设置上有所增减，更趋于合理，并对部分版面进行了改版，更加方便读者参阅。 七、本年鉴按照国家2003年颁布的行政区划进行编辑，原丽江地区撤地改市后相关个别县(区)的统计数据有所变动。德宏州瑞丽市的畹町单列。 八、本年鉴在编辑过程中，由于时间和水平关系，如有差错之处，热忱希望读者批评指正。为使本年鉴不断改进和完善，更好地满足社会各界的需要，希望广大读者提出宝贵的意见。 Ⅰ. Yunnan Statistical Yearbook 2004 is an annual statistics publication tally reflecting the national economy and social development in Yunnan province. The present yearbook covers very comprehensive data in each city, county and prefecture in 2003 as well as some selected data series in historically significant years for the whole province. Ⅱ. The book contains the following twenty-four parts: 1. Division of Administrative Areas and Natural Resources; 2. General Survey; 3. National Accounts; 4. Population; 5. Employment and Wages; 6. Investment in Fixed Assets; 7. Finance, Banking and Insurance; 8. Price Indices; 9. People's Livelihood; 10. Agriculture; 11. Industry; 12. Production and Consumption of Energy and Raw Material; 13. Transport, Post and Telecommunication Services; 14. Construction; 15. Domestic Trade; 16. Foreign Economy and Trade and Tourism; 17. Education, Science and Technology; 18. Culture, Sports, Public Health and Others; 19. Survey of Enterprises; 20.Survey of Basic Entities; 21.General Survey of Minority Nationality Autonomous Areas; 22. General Survey of Cities; 23. General Survey of Counties (Districts and Cities); 24. General Survey of Townships and Towns. In addition, Explanatory Notes on Principal Statistical Indicators are provided at the end of each part to describe the content, scope and method of provincial statistical indicators briefly. Ⅲ. The major data in this publication are obtained from annual statistical reports and a small part from sample surveys. It is advisable to note in the reference that the sum of data of each city, county and prefecture may not correspondingly equal the total of the whole province in some statistical indicators due to vertical and horizontal statistical division. Since the statistical system is still under reform and the statistical requirements and scope are somewhat changed, the relevant data are adjusted and explained accordingly in the present yearbook. Ⅳ. The units of measurement used in this book are international standard measurement units issued by the state. Ⅴ. Notations used in this yearbook: “...”　indicates that the figure is not large enough to be measured with the smallest unit in the table; "(blank)" indicates that the data are not available; “＃”　indicates that the major items of the total. Ⅵ. The English version of 2004 Yearbook has been retranslated and checked against authoritative texts completely except for the names of industrial enterprises, mining enterprises and corporations remaining their Chinese form. Some indicators are either supplemented or reduced and it turns out to be more reasonable. In addition, some layouts are modified in the present yearbook. Therefore, it appears to be more convenient for readers' reference. Ⅶ. The present yearbook is edited following the divisions of administrative areas issued by the state in 2003. Relevant statistical data of few counties (regions) have been changed moderately since the former Li Jiang region is replaced by the present Li Jiang city. Wan Ding in Rui Li city of De Hong prefecture is listed separately. Ⅷ. Readers are welcome to correct our mistakes made during the compiling due to our limited time and level. In order to perfect the yearbook and meet the requirements of all social circles better, comments from various readers are highly appreciated.
