《广东统计年鉴—1998》（下简称年鉴）是一部反映广东省国民经济和社会发展情况的资料性年刊，书中收录了全省、各市、县（区）、乡镇1997年的大量统计数据以及建国以来各个主要时期的一些主要统计数据。 《年鉴》分两部分。第一部分，概述；第二部分，统计资料。具体分为行政区划和自然资源、要素市场、综合、人口、从业人员和职工工资，固定资产投资，能源生产与消费、财政、金融和保险，物价，人民生活，农业，工业，建筑业，运输邮电，国内贸易，对外经济与旅游，教育、科技、文化、体育、卫生、社会福利、环境和其他，经济地带主要指标，城市主要指标，县、区主要经济指标，乡镇主要经济指标等22部分。此外，年鉴附录部分还汇编部份省（市）国民经济主要指标，香港、台湾、新加坡、韩国主要统计资料，部分国家和地区主要统计资料。 本《年鉴》大部份资料来自政府各级统计局的各种定期统计报表及抽样调查资料；部分资料来自中央部属单位和省属各主管部门。附录中的资料是根据国家统计局及有关方面提供的资料整理的。 资料中所使用的度量衡单位，除耕地、播种面积照顾我国使用习惯继续用“亩”为单位外，其余均采用国际统一标准计量单位。 本《年鉴》中计算的平均每年增长速度，均用“水平法”。 本《年鉴》统计表中的符号使用说明： “…”表示数据不足本表最小单位数； “＃”表示其中主要项； “空格”表示该项统计指标数据不详或无该项数据； “”或“①”表示本表下有注解。 本年鉴在整理编辑过程中，得到省直有关部门和单位的大力支持，在此表示感谢！ Statistical Yearbook of Guangdong 1998 (abbreviation as the Yearbook below) is an annual statistics publication, which covers mainly statistics in 1997 and some selected major data series in historically important yers after the establishment of the People’s Republic of China at provincial level and local levels of city (preiectures), county and township and village, therefore, reflects various aspects of Guangdong Province’s social and economic development. The Yearbook contains two major parts. The first part is outline, the second part is statisties. In detail it is divided into the following 22 parts: Administrative Division and Natural Resources, General Survey, Main indicators on the factors market. Population, Employment and Wages, Investment in Fixed assets, production and consumption of enegy. public Finance, banking and insurance, price indices. People' s Livelihood. Agriculture. Industry. Construction. Transportation, Postal and Telecommunication Services. Domestic Trade. Foreign Trade and Tourism. Education, Science, technology and Culture. Sports, Public Health, Social Welfare. Environment protection and Others, special Economic Regions, Cities, Counties and Districts, Under city admmitration Town and Villages. Besides these, in the appendices of the Yearbook are main economic indicators of some provinces, and main statistics of Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Korean. Main statistics of some countries and regions. The data in the Yearbook are mainly obtained from regular statistical reports and sample surveys conducted by the Statistical Bureau of all levels of government. Some data are collected from the departments of central government and provincial government. Date in appendices are compliled from statistical publications published by the State Statistical Bureau of China and other sources. The units of measurement used in the Yearbook are internationally standard measurement units, except those on cultivated land and sown areas which are used in “mu” in order to give consideration to the habit of using these data. The method of the calculation of the average yearly increasing speed in the Yearbook is horizontal method. Notations used in the Yearbook: “. .” indicates that the figure is not large enough to be measured with the smallest unit in the table; “=” indicates the major items of the total; "(blank)" indicates that the data not available; "or""(1)" indicates "see footnotes”. During the compilation of the Yearbook, we have got the support from some government departments of province and other relative units. We express our thanks to all of them here.
